From The Director's Chair

While the start of the 2007-2008 school year is still almost nine months away, many schools have already begun preparation and enrollment process.  One of the most significant upgrades we are planning for next year is reducing class sizes in nursery, kindergarten, and in many of the elementary school grades.  This entails adding new classrooms and splitting some of the more crowded grades into smaller groups.  Despite the rapid growth of our school, and of our community in general, we want to ensure that Y.E.S. maintains the warmth and personal attention that we all love and cherish.

On January 7th, we will be hosting our annual Open House and Registration event.  Of course, there will be fun things for the whole family to do, including projects, games, stories for the children, great food, etc.  It will also be an opportunity to see the school and meet the staff members. But most importantly, it will the first opportunity to register (and save money) for the upcoming school year.  There will be a $100 discount per child for everyone who registers on January 7 at the Open House

Due to the very high demand, our need to keep class sizes small in compliance with new accreditation guidelines, and the need to be fair with all applicants, the deadline for priority status for returning students is February 10, 2007.  We must stress the extreme importance for everyone, even returning students, to register as early as possible.  After that date, we will be unable to hold any spaces and everyone registering afterwards will be treated as a new applicant.

If you know any new families that would like to apply to our school, please encourage them to come on that day as well.  In many of our classes there will be very few (if any) spaces available, and since we have made a firm commitment to keep class sizes low, it will be very difficult to accept people who do not apply or re-register as early as possible.

If you have any questions about the admission process, please feel free to call me in the office.  Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you on January 7th.
